Our voice tools analyse microphone input locally within your browser. They do not record your voice or upload audio to our server. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand general website traffic and usage, and we show ads through Journey by Mediavine.

Information We Collect or Process
The information involved depends on how you use the website and which tool or feature you choose.
Website and Technical Information
When you visit VocalRangeCalculator.com, our hosting infrastructure, Google Analytics 4 and our advertising service, Journey by Mediavine, may automatically process technical and usage information, including:
- Browser and device type
- Operating system and language settings
- Pages visited
- Approximate geographic location
- Referring website or traffic source
- Date and time of access
- Session duration and website interactions
- IP address or IP-derived information
- User-agent information
- Server, error, and security logs
We use this information to operate, secure, measure, and improve the website. It is separate from your microphone audio and calculated vocal results.
According to Google, Google Analytics may temporarily use an IP address to derive approximate location information, but individual IP addresses are not logged or stored by Google Analytics.
Information You Provide by Email
If you contact us, we may receive:

- Your name, if you provide it
- The subject and contents of your message
- Attachments you voluntarily include
- Other information needed to investigate your request
Contact and support inquiries are handled through direct email. You do not need to create an account to contact us.
Please do not send passwords, payment details, government identification documents, complete medical records, or other sensitive information that is unnecessary for your inquiry.
Microphone and Audio Processing
Some tools on VocalRangeCalculator.com, such as the vocal range calculator, require microphone access to detect your pitch, notes, vocal range, or other voice-related information. Your browser should ask for permission before allowing a tool to access your microphone.
All of our current microphone tools handle audio the same way:
- They analyze microphone input locally within your browser.
- They do not record your voice or upload audio to our server.
Granting microphone permission lets the open tool analyse the live sound in your browser. It does not create a recording, and the tool stops using the microphone when you stop it or close the page.
The note detector can also analyse an audio file you choose (up to 25 MB; the first two minutes are analysed). The file is read and decoded in your browser and is not uploaded to our server.
We do not currently use an external third-party audio-analysis API. We also do not send microphone audio to Google Analytics, to our advertising service, or to anyone else.
You may deny microphone access when your browser requests permission or revoke previously granted permission through your browser or device settings. Tools that depend on live audio may not function correctly without microphone access.

Tool Results and Local Storage
Depending on the tool, calculated results may include:
- Detected musical notes
- Pitch or frequency
- Lowest and highest detected notes
- Vocal-range boundaries
- Semitone or octave span
- Estimated voice-type overlap
- Register-related measurements
- Other calculated vocal outputs
We do not currently send calculated vocal results to Google Analytics.
Our tools do not currently save results, preferences, or settings in your browser’s localStorage, sessionStorage, or cookies. A result stays in the open page and is cleared when you reload or close it. You can copy a result, and some tools let you download a result image or copy a share link. The vocal range calculator and the frequency to note converter put the values after the # sign in the link, a part that your browser does not send to our server when the page loads. If you open such a link, the full page address may still appear in standard analytics page data.
Information that a website saves in your browser remains until you clear the website’s data, the site replaces it, or your browser removes it. Because such information exists only on your device, we would be unable to access, export, correct, or delete it remotely.
Tool results are informational estimates. They are not used to make legal, employment, financial, medical, or similarly significant decisions about you. Please see our Disclaimer for important limitations concerning tool results and voice classifications.

VocalRangeCalculator.com displays advertising through Journey by Mediavine. Their use of this information is governed by their own privacy policies.
We also do not currently use affiliate links or affiliate-tracking technologies to associate visitors with purchases or referrals.
Depending on where you live, Journey by Mediavine may show a consent message or a privacy-choices option, such as “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information,” that lets you control advertising cookies. If our advertising setup changes or affiliate tracking is introduced, we will review and update this Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policy. Where required, appropriate consent and privacy-choice mechanisms will also be implemented.
How We Share Information
We do not sell microphone audio or calculated vocal results, and our tools do not send them to anyone.
Information may be processed by limited service providers that help us operate the website.
Hosting Services
VocalRangeCalculator.com is hosted by Hostinger. Its infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver pages, maintain availability, identify errors, provide security, and prevent abuse.
Google Analytics
Google may process technical and website-usage information when providing Google Analytics 4. We do not intentionally send microphone audio or calculated vocal results to GA4.
Advertising Services
Journey by Mediavine and its advertising partners may receive technical and usage information, such as cookie identifiers, IP-derived location, device details, and the page you are viewing, when ads load. Our tools do not send microphone audio or vocal results to them.
Email Services
When you contact us, the services used to send, receive, and store email may process your email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include.
Legal and Safety Requirements
We may disclose relevant information when reasonably necessary to:

Data Retention
We apply different retention periods depending on the information involved.
Microphone audio and audio files: Not retained by us. Audio is analysed in your browser and is not uploaded to or stored on our server.
Tool results: Kept only in the open page until you reload or close it. Our tools do not currently save them in your browser’s storage.
Contact and support emails: Email correspondence is generally retained for up to 12 months after an inquiry is resolved. It may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for an ongoing security matter, legal obligation, dispute, or legal claim.
Google Analytics information: Analytics information is retained according to the settings configured for our GA4 property and Google’s applicable retention practices. Aggregated reports may remain available for longer periods.
Advertising information: Information collected through ads is retained by Journey by Mediavine and its partners under their own retention practices.
Technical logs: Hosting, error, and security logs may be retained according to reasonable operational, troubleshooting, security, and hosting requirements.
Data Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the website and the information involved. These include limiting unnecessary collection and processing audio locally in your browser instead of uploading it.
However, no website, server, browser, network, email system, transmission, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, browser, email account, and microphone permissions.
