Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how VocalRangeCalculator.com currently uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies.

Our current setup is relatively simple. We do not currently use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, another advertising platform, or affiliate tracking. Some tools do, however, use browser localStorage to remember results and preferences.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Data Security pages.

What This Policy Covers

This policy covers:

  • browser cookies
  • local browser storage
  • functional site data
  • current analytics and advertising status
  • user controls for clearing or blocking stored data

Microphone access and audio processing are separate from cookies. For information about microphone-based tools, see our Data Security page.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Cookies and localStorage are both browser technologies, but they are not the same thing.

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website can store through your browser and that may be sent with later web requests.

LocalStorage is browser-side storage that can keep information on your device without sending that information with every page request.

VocalRangeCalculator.com currently uses localStorage for some tool results and preferences.

How We Currently Use Browser Storage

Some features may store information such as:

  • recent tool results
  • selected settings
  • tool preferences
  • values needed to preserve your choices between visits

This helps certain tools remember information without requiring a user account.

Not every tool necessarily uses browser storage in the same way.

Data stored only in localStorage generally remains within the browser profile on your device unless a feature explicitly transmits it elsewhere.

How Long Local Data Remains

We do not apply one universal retention period to every locally stored value.

Browser-local information may remain until:

  • the tool removes or replaces it
  • you clear site data
  • you clear browser storage
  • your browser removes it automatically
  • you use a private browsing session that clears data when the session ends

Switching browsers or devices will also normally mean that locally saved results or preferences do not move with you.

Current Cookie and Tracking Status

Our current site setup is as follows:

Technology or PurposeCurrent Status
Functional browser storageUsed by some tools
localStorage for resultsActive for some features
localStorage for preferencesActive for some features
Google AnalyticsNot active
Google AdSenseNot active

This reflects the current implementation of VocalRangeCalculator.com and may change as the site evolves.

Analytics

VocalRangeCalculator.com does not currently use Google Analytics.

We also do not currently use another active analytics service to receive vocal test results.

Tool results are not currently sent to Google Analytics or another analytics platform.

If analytics is introduced in the future, this policy and our Privacy Policy should be updated to explain what information is collected and how it is used.

Advertising

VocalRangeCalculator.com does not currently use Google AdSense or another active advertising platform.

As a result, we do not currently use advertising cookies for personalized or behavioral advertising.

If advertising is introduced later, we will review the associated cookies, storage technologies, consent requirements, and privacy disclosures.

Affiliate Tracking

Affiliate tracking is not currently active on VocalRangeCalculator.com.

We therefore do not currently use affiliate-tracking cookies to attribute purchases or referrals.

If affiliate partnerships are introduced in the future, relevant disclosures and this policy should be updated where necessary.

Necessary and Functional Technologies

Even on a site without analytics or advertising, technical browser storage or cookies may sometimes be used for normal website operation.

This can include functions related to:

  • site security
  • technical delivery
  • session handling
  • browser functionality
  • saving preferences

Because hosting, WordPress, browser behavior, or site components can change, we do not claim that ordinary visitors will never encounter any technical cookie under any circumstances.

We do not list specific cookie names here unless their use has been verified.

Hostinger and Technical Site Delivery

VocalRangeCalculator.com is hosted by Hostinger.

Normal hosting infrastructure may process technical web requests needed to deliver and protect the site.

Hosting and security mechanisms are not the same as behavioral advertising or analytics tracking.

For more information about server-level information and technical logs, see Data Security.

Microphone Permission Is Not a Cookie

Some VocalRangeCalculator.com tools ask for microphone permission.

Microphone permission is controlled by your browser or operating system and is not itself a cookie.

Allowing microphone access gives a tool permission to receive audio input according to that tool’s current implementation.

Some microphone tools process audio locally, while some may record or upload audio as part of their operation. We do not currently use an external audio-processing API.

For more information, see our Data Security page.

Cookie Consent Banner

VocalRangeCalculator.com does not currently display a cookie or CMP consent banner.

The site currently does not use Google Analytics, advertising, or affiliate-tracking technologies.

However, some functional browser storage remains in use, including localStorage for certain results and preferences.

If we introduce technologies that require additional consent, controls, or disclosures, we will review the site’s consent implementation and update this policy accordingly.

How to Manage Cookies and Local Storage

You can control browser storage through your browser settings.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to:

  • block cookies
  • delete cookies
  • clear site-specific data
  • clear localStorage
  • prevent websites from storing persistent data
  • use private or incognito browsing

The names and locations of these settings vary between browsers and devices.

Blocking or deleting functional storage may affect features such as saved preferences or recent results, but the site should not require analytics or advertising cookies because those services are not currently active.

Private or Incognito Browsing

Private browsing can be useful if you do not want certain browser data to remain after a session.

Depending on the browser, private mode may:

  • limit persistent storage
  • remove cookies when the session ends
  • remove localStorage when the private session closes
  • prevent saved results or preferences from remaining for future visits

Private browsing does not necessarily make all internet activity anonymous or prevent normal network and hosting requests.

Third-Party Services

We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, affiliate-tracking, or external audio-processing services.

A normal outbound link to another website, such as a social media page, does not by itself mean that service sets tracking cookies on VocalRangeCalculator.com.

If we later add third-party services, embeds, analytics, advertising, affiliate technology, or other tools that use cookies or similar storage, this policy should be updated to describe those changes.

Changes to This Policy

Our tools and technical setup may change over time.

We may update this Cookies Policy when:

  • new tools are added
  • storage behavior changes
  • analytics is introduced
  • advertising is introduced
  • affiliate tracking is introduced
  • a consent platform is added
  • browser or hosting technologies change

The current version of this page should reflect the technologies in active use on VocalRangeCalculator.com at the time of publication.
